Product Manager
Looking for a role where your ideas can shape innovative products from concept to launch?
We're looking for a hands-on and driven Product Manager to join the ESP Technical/Quality team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and deliver the ESP product portfolio, ensuring products meet market needs, customer requirements and business objectives.
Based at our Redditch site, this role is full-time with working hours of 9:00am to 5:00pm
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement a product strategy aligned with market trends, customer needs, and business objectives.
• Create and manage the product roadmap, ensuring timely delivery of new features and updates.
• Define the unique value proposition for each product in the portfolio ensuring we have a suitable good, better and best offering for UK wholesale market.
• Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer feedback sessions to identify opportunities and product gaps.
• Analyse market trends, customer demands, and emerging technologies for fire detection, access control and other security related product.
• Identify opportunities for product improvements or new offerings based on data-driven insights.
• Create technical product-related documentation such as instructions, specifications etc.
• Ensure all product-related documentation from certification, packaging and instructions are in line and kept up to date with regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with technical, quality control, design and manufacturing teams to define product specifications and ensure successful execution.
• Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders, including sales, marketing, operations, and technical teams.
• Communicate product updates and key milestones to internal and external stakeholders.
• Support other departments with customer enquiries as and when required.
• Monitor product performance using key metrics such as revenue, profitability, and market share.
• Prepare regular reports on product performance and make strategic recommendations.
• Make regular trips overseas to the Far East and Europe to review fire and security related projects.
• Communicate with global suppliers and business leads via various platforms.
• Assess and determine suitability of factory for the intended product/project.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
• Experience working in a product management or product-focused role
• Proven ability to support product development from concept through to implementation
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Experience building effective working relationships with overseas factories, including suppliers in the Far East
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Confident user of Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Willing and able to travel within the UK and overseas, occasionally at short notice
• Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
• Knowledge of CE, UKCA and relevant international product standards
• Knowledge of fire detection, access control and wider security-related products
• Experience mentoring, coaching or line-managing others
• Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud applications, such as InDesign
Education and Qualifications
• GCSE Maths and English or demonstrable experience
